ObokSusan Naru, Magok / 오복수산나루 마곡점

​

When we first encountered the site with a ceiling height of over 9 meters, we set out to design a ceiling that would be unique to this space. The vast 24-meter-long and 9-meter-high glass façade opened toward a sunken outdoor area, but its overwhelming scale risked creating visual noise within the interior.

To address this, we suspended a floating wall in the middle of the window system—allowing natural light to enter from the top while visually opening the lower part toward the outside. This architectural gesture helped establish a calmer and more grounded atmosphere within the space.

From the highest point at 5 meters, the ceiling slopes down to 2.4 meters, creating a dramatic spatial experience. To articulate this large slanted surface and avoid a sense of emptiness, we introduced floating walls at regular intervals, adding structure and rhythm to the space while establishing an appropriate sense of scale.

The interior is finished with a warm-toned white ceiling, charcoal-colored walls and flooring, and furniture in matching tones. Through a restrained palette of materials and colors, Obok Susan Naru achieves a distinctive and immersive atmosphere that is both composed and memorable.

9M가 넘는 층고와 24M 길이의 거대한 창호를 마주했을 때, 우리는 이 공간만의 특별한 천장을 계획하고자 했습니다. 대형 창호는 외부 선큰 공간을 향해 열려 있었고, 그 크기와 개방감은 내부를 산만하게 만들 수 있었습니다.

이에 우리는 창호 중간에 공중에 떠 있는 벽을 설치하여 위쪽은 자연광이 들어오게 하고, 아래쪽은 외부와의 시각적 연결을 유지하도록 구성했습니다. 이러한 건축적 장치를 통해 공간은 더 차분하고 안정된 분위기를 갖게 되었습니다.

가장 높은 5M 천장에서 시작해 2.4M 높이까지 경사지게 내려오는 천장은 공간에 극적인 경험을 부여합니다. 넓고 비어 보일 수 있는 이 경사 천장에는 일정 간격으로 수벽을 설치해 시각적 리듬을 형성하고, 공간을 보다 짜임새 있게 구성했습니다.

마감은 따뜻한 톤의 화이트 천장, 챠콜 색상의 벽과 바닥, 그리고 동일한 톤의 가구들로 이루어져, 재료와 색상의 사용을 최소화하면서도 오복수산 나루만의 특별한 분위기를 완성했습니다.
