ObokSusan, LG ArtCenter / 오복수산 LG아트센터점

The Oboksusan at LG Arts Center is located within a performance hall designed by renowned architect Tadao Ando. The project pays homage to his architectural philosophy by thoughtfully incorporating materials that reflect his signature style.

​

Concrete panels were used throughout the space to honor the presence of exposed concrete, a material strongly associated with Ando’s work. The design carefully considers the relationship with the exposed concrete ceiling of the adjacent exterior corridor, leading to the use of galvanized steel for the ceiling of the foyer at the store’s entrance, creating a seamless connection between inside and out.

Details such as partition frames and furnishings finished in gray anodized aluminum add precision and refinement to the space. Meanwhile, white oak table tops introduce warmth, balancing the cool tone of the industrial materials and completing the unique atmosphere of Obok Susan at LG Arts Center.

This project embodies a sensitive dialogue between architecture and dining, where contextual material choices and refined details create a space that is both grounded in its surroundings and distinctive in its identity.

오복수산 LG아트센터점은 세계적인 건축가 안도 타다오가 설계한 공연장 내부에 위치한 프로젝트로, 그의 건축 철학과 재료적 맥락을 공간에 존중하며 반영하고자 했습니다.

​

매장 내부에는 콘크리트 패널을 적용해 안도 타다오의 상징적 재료인 노출 콘크리트의 분위기를 이어가며, 외부 복도의 콘크리트 천장과의 연속성을 고려했습니다. 이에 따라 매장 전면의 Foyer 공간 천장은 아연도금강판으로 마감되어 외부와의 재료적 흐름을 연결합니다.

회색 아노다이징 처리된 알루미늄 프레임과 정제된 가구 디테일은 공간에 세밀함과 정돈된 인상을 부여하며, 마지막으로 화이트오크 테이블 상판이 따뜻한 질감을 더해 전체 공간의 분위기를 부드럽게 완성합니다.

이처럼 오복수산 LG아트센터점은 건축적 맥락을 고려한 재료 선택과 섬세한 디테일을 통해, 장소성과 브랜드 감성이 자연스럽게 공존하는 식사 공간으로 설계되었습니다.
